In earlier times it was one of
the busiest city due to its trade and Business. It has been a centre of
attraction due to beautiful coastline, natural beauty and belt of coconut trees.
The huge warehouses, big godowns and profit markets remind its history even
today. Sagareshwar farming research centre, Shiroda village, Ganapati of Redi,
Mochappa, Nevati, Sateridevi Temple, Vithoba Temple are tourist visiting places.

Vengurla Port &
Vishramdham:
- In Konkan the main source of income is through the fishing
industry & Vengurla port is very important port for this business. Next to
this port is a beautiful hill which has the Govt. Guest House or Vishramdham.
The surrounding location is full of natural scenery and there is vast sea ahead.
There is a lighthouse & towards the west there is a small island. India's
famous cricket player Little Master - Sunil Gavaskar is from Vengurla.

Vengurla Fruit Research
Centre: -
The Konkan farming university & Fruit Research Centre is the
study centre as well as tourist visiting place. The newly developed variety of
Mango, named 'Sindhu' was discovered here. New experiments are being carried on
fruits like mango & cashewnut. The farmers are prospering due to the new
discoveries.
How
to Reach: Very close from Vengurla city.
Further south lies Vengurla with its long
stretch of white sands, and hills covered with cashew, coconut, jackfruit and
mango groves. The town has two well-known temples : the Shri Devi Sateri Temple
and the Rameshwar Mandir. Vengurla is often mentioned in history books as
a trade settlement, twice burned to the ground, it was the garget of repetitive
attacks and plunders between 1664 and 1812. To the west-north-west lie the
Vengurla Rocks, also called the Burnt Islands.
Terekhol
Fort : In Goa,
in Sindhudurga district on the border of Redi village we find Terekhol fort. It
is on a big hill near the seashore. Though it is in Goa, people visiting
Sindhudurga are able to sect fort is situated at the mouth of Redi creek.
Towards the south of the fort is the seashore. Redi village is well known for
its manganese business.

Vengurla.
Sagareshwar: When you
walk through the clean, white sand hill, there is deep blue sea and the
Sagareshwar temple. It is safe to swim in this seashore. There is an ancient
church nearby.

Aaravali's Lord
Vithoba: The
deity of the villagers is Lord Vithoba & the temple is a visiting place.
There is a beautiful coastline, which is very attractive.

Nivati -
Kochara: -
There
is a vast sea at Bhogva, Kochra & Nivati. The villages of Nivati-Dabholi are
amidst the nature away from the noise & pollution of the city.

Road 16 km.
Bhogve:
It is situated
at a beautiful place where the Karli river meets the sea. Nivati fort has
provided historical importance to this place. The 'Karleshwar' Temple of Neru, 'Aadi
Narayan' temple of Parule, 'Dapoli's Math' are the interesting visiting places.
How to Reach: 22 km. from Vengurla.
Mochemad
: It is
surrounded by 200 feet high mountains and hills. On the way from Shirodh to
Vengurla, is Mochemad village. The coastline is extremely beautiful with the
plantations of 'Suru' Trees.
