Math :

existance of Akkalkot Swami or Swami Samarth is felt in the math. It is located
Markandi near Chiplun. Accommodation facility is available in this math. There
are many disciples of Swami Samarth. The foundation of the math was done by
Gopalbua. He wrote a book on miracles done by Swami Samarth Gurupurnima, Swami
Jayanthi, & Shravan Sohala are the days when there is celebration in the
math.

Vindhyavasini
:
Idol of
goddess Vindhyavasini of Yadav period was liked by Shakta community. The temple
of Goddess Vindhyavasini is in Ravatale in Chiplun. The 12 disciples of Goddess
burried the temple when the enemy attacked. After Shambhu Chhatrapati at the
time of ploughing, the pinnacle of this temple was discovered. Then the temple
was known to the people. The voice of heaven at the time of Krishna's birth was
of goddess Vindhyavasini. The idol has eight hands. There are different weapons
like sword, corba, arrows, shield in her hands. There is great festival at the
time of navaratri. There is one more temple in this temple with beautiful
sculptures carved in it. There is idol of lord Kartikey with & faces in this
temple.

Sawatsada
:
The real
natural beauty of Konkan can be seen in the rainy season. The white waterfall
with its rippling sound is the special feature of Sawatsada Waterfall. Many
tourists have take its photographs & thus made it famous. From Chiplun city
on the way to Parshuram Temple, the area towards its right is known as Sawatsada.

Karanjeshwari
: The
Goddess of the people of Konkan is Karanjeshwari. The temple is situated at the
footsteps of Govindgad, near the banks of Vashisthi river. This temple was
born/built in the 8th Century. While visiting this temple tourists also visit
Shree Dev Someshwar temple. In the forest of Karanja trees a Goddess had
appeared, so she came to be known as Karanjeshwari. The Goddess is sitting on a
tiger, on a throne & she has four hands.
